About Students for Integrative Medicine

Welcome to the Homepage of Students for Integrative Medicine (SIM) -- a student group at UC Berkeley encouraging awareness of alternative and conventional medical practices.

We meet every Monday, after our DE-Cal, in 2050 VLSB at 7:30 PM. We usually take the speaker out for dinner -- an opportunity to meet with an integrative medicine practitioner in an informal setting, and get a feel for the group.

Look for us on Sproul, too. Mostly in late afternoons.

We are looking for new and motivated members to bring more depth to our events and increase our organizational efficacy. We are engaged in attempting to secure an academic concentration, minor, major and department. If you are interested in being involved or you are just interested in attending our workshops, please contact us or attend our general meetings. All are welcome.

Most business gets taken care of at our meetings, and at our Yahoo group. This is a high-volume discussion group by the SIM community, useful for anyone interested in being involved. Depending on the degree of involvement you desire, due to the heavy volume of email you may want to choose DAILY DIGEST or WEEKLY DIGEST in your message settings. Join our mailing list and group by visiting:

We appreciate your interest and look forward to meeting you.

Come Meet Us!

Due to the decal, we are not holding regular, official meetings this Spring semester.

But that doesn't mean you can't meet us!

The best time to catch us in action is during our class, the Integrative Medicine DE-Cal, every Monday 5:30-7:30 PM, in 2050 VLSB (Valley Life Sciences Building) on the UC Berkeley campus. We usually stick around after class to chill and socialize, so come out and join the fun!

On the other hand, if you still can't make it then, fear not! You can "meet" us online on our yahoo group! It's a great place to introduce yourself to the group, take part in much of the business in order to put together our events, or simply share what's on your mind. So check it out!

The Integrative Medicine Conference at Cal

Our last conference at UC Berkeley took place November 6, 2005. It was a smashing success! You can read about it from our old site here.

Putting together the conference is our main project each Fall, with practitioners from around the Bay Area presenting and demonstrating on a wide variety of healing modalities. A full day of workshops, meet-ups, and discussions. Wunderbar!

Our next conference on Integrative Medicine will take place November, 2006. Details will be posted as it develops.

Our Alumni

SIM Founder Brieanna Cross
"In 1999 I announced in one of my classes that Students for Integrative Medicine was having its first meeting on the grass outside after class. Little did the audience know that there was really no such club, only the seed of a dream."

SIM Coordinator 2003-4 Brita Popma
Brita was a staying force in SIM, especially during the 2003-4 year, when we were down to 3 members, yet put on a conference and DE-Cal all the same.

SIM Brother Chris Bubba Restivo
Force of fun from 2003-2005

During the bustling 2004-5 year, Jen got us coordinated.
